Malevolence instructions
Requirements
- Install both Visual C++ Redistributable x86 and Visual C++ Redistributable x64.
- Disable Windows Defender and any third-party antivirus before loading. See Disabling Windows Anti-Virus.
- In Windows Exploit protection, disable Force randomization for images (Mandatory ASLR).
- Set the game to Borderless Fullscreen, also called Windowed Fullscreen. Apply your resolution and graphics settings before loading Malevolence.
- Use the latest public game release, not a beta or experimental build. For Steam games, check Library → right-click the game → Properties → Game Versions & Betas → Default Public Version.
How To Load
1. Prepare the Game Launcher
- Close the game and Malevolence loader.
- Fully close the game launcher using Task Manager, then reopen the launcher with Run as administrator. Opening it again without closing its existing process does not change its privileges.
- Leave the launcher open, but do not start the game yet.
DayZ: If the DayZ launcher opens through Steam, running Steam as administrator is enough. If you use an independent launcher such as DZSALauncher, fully close it and reopen it as administrator.
2. Open the Loader
- Download the loader using the link in your purchase email.
- Extract the ZIP to a folder, preferably on your Desktop.
- Open the extracted loader. Running it normally, without administrator privileges, is recommended.
- Follow the sign-in prompts, select your game, and click Load.
Important: Run the game launcher as administrator. Malevolence recommends running its loader normally.
3. Launch the Game
- Wait until the loader says “Please open {Game_Name}”.
- Only then start the game through its launcher.
- Watch the loader for any error messages while the game opens. After a successful load, it closes automatically after about five seconds.
- Allow up to one minute for the in-game menu to appear.
Do not change resolution or graphics settings while Malevolence is loaded.
Menu Controls
- INSERT: Open or close the menu.
- END: Hide or restore all visuals.
- Double-click the top red bar: Collapse or expand a menu.
Configurations
Saved configurations are stored in:
%localappdata%\Configurations\{Game_Name}
Replace {Game_Name} with your game's folder. To share a configuration, copy its file into the same game's folder on the other PC. If the folder does not exist yet, save a configuration first or create the folder with the correct name.
Updating the Loader
If the loader offers an update, click Yes to download the new version. This downloads a new executable; it does not automatically replace or open your current loader.
Close the old loader and launch the newly downloaded file. Once the new version is working, you can remove the old copy.
