User Account Control Settings

Important Notes Before Starting:

• This is a Windows setting, not a BIOS setting.
• UAC controls when Windows asks for admin permission.
• Recommended secure setting: Always notify.
• You need an administrator account to change this.
• A restart is usually not required, but some apps may need to be reopened.

General Steps:

1. Press Windows key.
2. Search Change User Account Control settings.
3. Open it.
4. Move the slider to the top option:

• Always notify

1. Click OK.
2. Accept the UAC/admin prompt if asked.

Alternative from Control Panel:

2. Type:

4. Go to User Accounts.
5. Click User Accounts again.
6. Click Change User Account Control settings.
7. Move the slider to Always notify.
8. Click OK.
