Disabling Windows Anti-Virus

Disable Windows Defender / Microsoft Defender Antivirus

General Steps:

  1. Press Windows key.
  2. Search Windows Security and open it.
  3. Click Virus & threat protection.
  4. Under Virus & threat protection settings, click Manage settings.
  5. Turn Off:
  • Real-time protection
  • Cloud-delivered protection
  • Automatic sample submission
  1. Accept the UAC/admin prompt if asked.
  2. Restart the PC if the app or installer still behaves the same.

If Tamper Protection Blocks Changes:

  1. Open Windows Security.
  2. Go to Virus & threat protection.
  3. Click Manage settings.
  4. Scroll to Tamper Protection.
  5. Set Tamper Protection to Off.
  6. Accept the UAC/admin prompt if asked.
  7. Try disabling Defender again.

DControl / Defender Control Section

General Steps:

  1. Download DControl from the official Sordum website.
  2. Extract the ZIP file using WinRAR.
  3. Right-click dControl.exe.
  4. Click Run as administrator.
  5. Click Disable Microsoft Defender.
  6. Check the status inside DControl:
  • Green usually means Defender is enabled.
  • Red usually means Defender is disabled.
