Bleak troubleshooting

Bleak & Enot Rust

Rust uses SteelSeries GG, not the Discord overlay.

  • Use an official Windows Pro or Enterprise installation with the required DirectX and Visual C++ x64 dependencies installed.
  • Make sure Windows Defender, HVCI and Core Isolation, TPM, and Secure Boot are disabled. Remove conflicting antivirus and anti-cheats, then restart your computer.
  • Complete the first loader injection and automatic computer restart before configuring SteelSeries GG.
  • Run SteelSeries GG and the loader as administrator.
  • In SteelSeries GG:
  • Enable Sonar.
  • Assign F7 to Master - Volume Up under Shortcuts.
  • Disable Allow Moments to capture while gaming under Settings > Moments > Capture and Sound.
  • Disable Display game overlays under Overlay and Notifications.
  • Turn off Moments and automatic recording, including on the home screen.
  • Press F7, inject through the loader, then launch Rust through Steam and use Borderless mode.
  • The menu opens automatically. Use Insert or Home to open or close it.

ARC Raiders, WARDOGS, and PUBG/PUBG Lite

If the loader does not work or the menu does not appear for these games, check the following:

  • Make sure the required dependencies are installed:
  • Make sure the game is in borderless mode:
  • Check the game's display settings and select borderless mode.
  • Run Discord and the loader as administrator:
  • Fully close Discord, then reopen it using Run as administrator.
  • Run the Bleak loader as administrator too. Do this on every launch.
  • Make sure Discord's overlay settings exactly match the instructions:
  • Open User Settings > Game Overlay and check every setting:
  • Enable Overlay: ON
  • Enable Legacy Overlay: OFF
  • Enable Interactive Overlay Regions: ON
  • Use Compatibility Mode: OFF, where shown
  • Make sure the overlay is active for your game:
  • Keep Discord running.
  • Check the game's overlay toggle is ON where shown and that the overlay is active in User Settings > Game Overlay.
  • The Discord overlay notification in the top-left corner of the game also confirms it is active.
  • Follow the correct launch sequence:
  • Enter your key in the loader and click Inject.
  • Wait for the game to start automatically and reach the main menu.
  • Confirm the Discord overlay is active, return to the game, and press F4.
  • Allow 5 to 10 seconds for the Bleak menu to appear.
  • Use Insert or Home to open or close the menu.

Common issues

  • Error “Failed to map memory”
  • If you have less than 12 GB of RAM, contact your retailer for a refund.
  • Disable all programs at startup and restart your PC.
  • If the problem is not resolved:

  • The menu in the game is not clickable / does not open the first time:
  • Start Steam WITHOUT admin rights (in case you play via Steam).
