Disconnect External instructions

This guide covers Disconnect External for Fortnite, WARDOGS, and Rust External.

Using Disconnect Rust Internal? Follow the internal setup guide instead.

Requirements

  • Windows 10 or Windows 11.
  • Intel or AMD processor.
  • A valid license for your game.
  • The official Discord desktop app with the legacy overlay enabled.
  • Visual C++ and DirectX runtimes, installed below.
  • Your PC must also meet the game's own system requirements.

No USB drive is required.

1. Install dependencies

Install the Visual C++ runtime package and Microsoft DirectX Runtime. Extract the Visual C++ package and run install_all.bat as administrator.

2. Prepare your system

Close games and launchers. The provider requires conflicting antivirus and anti-cheat software to be disabled or removed before loading. See the anti-cheat preparation guide for Faceit and Vanguard.

These changes reduce system protection. Restore protection when finished.

3. Configure Discord

  1. Open the official Discord desktop app and keep it running.
  2. Go to User Settings > Game Overlay.
  3. Turn Enable Overlay off.
  4. Turn Enable Legacy Overlay on.

4. Download and load

  1. Open the loader download link in your purchase delivery instructions.
  2. Enter your license key and download your loader.
  3. Sign in, or create an account using your key.
  4. Open Products, select your game, and click Inject.
  5. Follow the loader's prompts for starting the game. Use one loader instance per session.
  6. Once the game is running, return to Discord's Game Overlay settings and enable its toggle under Currently Playing.
  7. Return to the game and allow the overlay to initialize.

The provider's illustrated overlay setup shows both the global and per-game settings.

Troubleshooting

  • No menu or ESP: Check Discord's global legacy-overlay setting and your game's overlay toggle.
  • Injection failed: Sign out, sign back in, and retry.
  • Delayed ESP: Lower the game's FPS cap or graphics settings.
  • Shaky ESP: Try disabling anti-aliasing and NVIDIA DLSS if your game offers those settings.
  • Unsupported Windows version: Contact support with your Windows build and exact loader error. Support for Windows 10 and 11 does not guarantee every build is supported immediately.
