Bleak WARDOGS instructions

1. Install Discord & Dependencies

Install the Discord desktop app and sign in to your account.

2. Prepare Your System

  • Close WARDOGS before loading Bleak.
  • Uninstall conflicting third-party antivirus and anti-cheat software, such as Faceit, Vanguard, 360, and Avast. See the anti-cheat guide.
  • Disabling Windows Defender is recommended, not mandatory. See the antivirus guide.
  • Secure Boot and TPM changes are optional. See the Secure Boot & TPM guide if you need to change them.
  • Use borderless display mode for the new Discord overlay.

Disabling security features reduces system protection. Do not apply another game's BIOS or overlay requirements to WARDOGS.

3. Configure Discord

  1. Fully close Discord, then start it using Run as administrator. Do this on subsequent launches too.
  2. Open User Settings > Game Overlay.
  3. Set Enable Overlay to ON.
  4. Set Enable Legacy Overlay to OFF.
  5. Set Enable Interactive Overlay Regions to ON.
  6. Leave Compatibility Mode OFF where shown.
  7. Keep Discord running.

Bleak WARDOGS uses the new Discord overlay, not the SteelSeries Sonar setup used by Bleak Rust.

4. Download the Loader

  1. Open the loader download link in your purchase email or delivery instructions.
  2. Download the Bleak loader.
  3. Save it in a folder of your choice.

5. Log In & Start WARDOGS

  1. Run the Bleak loader as administrator, including on subsequent launches.
  2. Enter your license key and click Inject.
  3. Keep Discord open. WARDOGS starts automatically after injection.
  4. Wait until WARDOGS reaches its main menu.
  5. In Discord's Game Overlay settings, confirm the WARDOGS game toggle is ON and the overlay is shown as applied. The Discord overlay notification in the top-left corner of the game also confirms it has attached.
  6. Return to WARDOGS, press F4, and wait 5 to 10 seconds for the Bleak menu.
  7. Open or close the menu with Insert or Home.

Troubleshooting

The menu does not appear

  • Confirm Discord and the loader were both started as administrator.
  • Check that WARDOGS is in borderless mode.
  • Confirm the new overlay is on, the legacy overlay is off, and the WARDOGS per-game toggle is on.
  • Wait for the overlay to attach before pressing F4, then allow 5 to 10 seconds.
  • Follow the WARDOGS launch sequence above, not Bleak Rust's SteelSeries setup.
